Upon having inherited her Aunt Kate’s place of seclusion, Riley Park resolves to examine it. She finds an ancient TV set and a pile of VHS cassettes in an attic marked with only the scene code of an obscure program. Interested, Riley slides the first cassette into her VCR. Surprisingly, it appears to be an animated kids’ series set in the early 2000s that she’s probably had never seen before the show seems to be made for a community TV station. The protagonists are a little girl called Amanda and a little sheep named Curly, who is her trusty but bashful companion. The episode appears straightforward and nice at the beginning, yet then Riley recognizes that there is nothing wrong: it is as if Amanda and Curlyash are talking to the girl via television. Though reason tells us to halt, Riley is compelled to watch further cassettes. There appears to be a need for Amanda, something, and Riley won’t be satisfied until she learns exactly just what it is.
